Default DRL Disable via Switch?

I'm wondering if anyone has tried this mod yet, as there's a mod to control the fog light via switch. It shouldn't seem too hard to do the same for the DRL. Installing it inline of the circuit to control it such that when the switch is on (closed), it closes the circuit and the DRLs are on like normal, but when the switch is off (open), the circuit is open and DRLs off.

Hardest part I'm guessing is figuring out which wire to tap.

Anyone want to chime in if they've already done this, or if this idea seems stupid?

Seems like it would be more trouble than it's worth. Just have the dealer disable your DRL's, amber is ugly anyway. =)

I guess it would be cool if you could have them on a switch, but the question is, if you're even bothering to put a switch on them to turn them off, when will you be turning these on?? Are you really going to be turning these on and off?

Instead of hacking into all the wires, maybe you'll be better off just having the dealership disable them.

It would be for show, like having ridiculous combos of lights on, say DRL off, Fogs on, Fog LED Insert on, or Fogs on n LED insert on!

I'm just saying, it'll be cheaper than paying for it done at the dealership and you can turn them back on whenever you like. Yes it is a PITA, but so are many wiring mods we've done to our cars haha.

My dealer turned em off for free... I can't imagine a circumstance under which I'd ever want them on.
