Dose anyone know if it is cheaper to order a smart card (key) through the US. The Canadian catalog list the smart card for $312

I go inside through the garage door, so i don't carry any keys.

I find the smart key very convenient.

Same here, sort of. I go through the garage which means I use homelink to open it and go in; the garage remote is a bulky POS I keep in glovebox (I guess if all else fails).

I still have keys though - another electronic thumbdrive like thing that lets me into work, a house key in case all else fails, a mailbox key (currently living in apartments) and then the requisite thin plastic barcode devices the gym and grocery store require.

If there's a better way, someone please let me know -- the less I have to carry the better but I always need a backup plan incase batteries fail and such.

Leave your house key at a close relative house or at home. Use only when you're not taking the car. Don't see the point when the home link and garage remote work just fine.

Mailbox key leave at home hidden. Do you really need to carry this all the time?

Plastic barcode, there's an app on the iphone that lets you scan the barcode digitally.

http://www.gomonews.com/cardstar-mob...e-application/ I would check with the place first though.

Flash drive, not sure what you need to carry but I've gone online for all backup. I have all my files, folders, important application stored on a ftp server or personal dropbox account (free) online. I keep a flash drive at work for offline transfer. And I work for a major corporation in LA as an IT guy.

Currently I don't care any keys with me. I use homelink to enter the house and the keyfob to enter the car. I really wish I can justify paying 200 for a smart card though as it's a lot of money for a lighter pocket.
