I've thought of this. Is this to avoid chips? if so I'll probably not use it because I try to maintain good distance usually and I'll probably drive it at night when it's less traffic.
I've considered putting some on simply for the bugs though, especially at night!!! I live in the Dallas area but kind of in a newly developing area and every EVERY time I drive after dark I have a bumper covered in bug splats and grasshoppers stuck in my grill. I wish I had a force-field.

Good God that's a lot of miles. Yes, blue painter's tape to avoid rock chips. I drive at a good distance too but you never know when some ******* in a big rig is going to spill gravel on the road. And yes, the bugs are nuts at night so that's an added protection painter's tape will give you.
