While in for service yesterday for a brake service package to disassemble, clean and lubricate all calipers I also reported to them the 'returned' noise after the first Cam Positioner refit 2 years ago.

By the time i picked it up they had the go ahead from head office to replace .... the car is beyond the 5-yr warranty at this point but they are covering it. They claim the last fix was with parts from 2008 and that newer designs are available now .... we shall see.

5 year warranty? According to lexus.ca, the powertrain warranty on the IS in Canada is for 72 months (6 years).
