Hello,

I did a quick search on this and was only able to find that headlamp washers is linked to windshield washer when headlamps are on.

Is the headlamp washer suppose to work only if the HIDs are on? I tried pressing the button to the left of the steering wheel and it won't work if only my DRLs are on. My service advisor told me it'll only work if my headlamp is on (not sure if he meant HID only..)

The button to the left of the steering wheel should activate the headlamp washers regardless of whether your headlights are on or off. The "link" between the headlights and headlight washers concerns the regular windshield washers. If you wash your windshield when the HIDs are on, the headlights get squirted too. If you wash your windshield when the HIDs are off, the headlight washers do not activate.

 

will the headlight washers activate even if the car is in motion?

 

my headlamp washers only spray when my car is in drive regardless if lights are on or off. if im not in drive it wont work.

 

I'll give it a try tomorrow.

 

Perhaps we should also include model year...

Mine is a 2010. Won't work without HIDs coming on.

 

hmmm, mine is a 06 and the manual says that it works only when the HIDs are on.

 

mine only work when the car is on and the headlights are on.
