Vanity plate.
as another member already stated, i think the "<3 MY IS" would work well. as for the mugging concept that Jetfire brought up- it can happen. the anonymity of a regular plate gives thieves and other pepetrators less of a chance to see who you are (male/female). i like the idea of personalized plates, and should you choose to pick one, pepper spray any foo that tries to mug you. and i sincerely hope that wont deter you from picking a personal plate. best of luck gurl!
I would avoid a personal plate if possible. You are calling out all kinds of attention to yourself from the general public. And as we all know, today's general public has all sorts of ugly problems (watch one day's worth of news). Not only does it stand out, make people angry/jealous, and overly bold/aggressive, it gives all these colorful people a easy way to remember who you are and track you.
Lastly, pesronal plates are easier for cops to spot and remember.
Food for thought.

heartmyis- i know it happens all the time, unfortunately, but if you can foresee a time (esp at nite) when you mite be walkin to your car alone, ive always been a proponent of having an escort there with you. a buddy who can protect you or even just to be there with you in the event that something like that may occur, which is hope is NEVER. one of my closest female friends was mugged on campus, and for a good month or so i would escort her to her car after our nite classes. peace of mind was definitely compromised, but shes recovering.
i have a regular plate but i called 20 insurance places to find the best sounding plate.
i think a personal plate is alright, but it's just the girl part you should avoid. i like hrtmyis

I think that mugging thing makes a lot of sense, maybe keep it gender neutral or at least not obvious that you're female. Good luck with the search though, I remember spending a good 2 hours on the DMV website (I was on a loooooooong conference call), and couldn't find anything satisfactory to me.
I agree. Remember the movie that Jody Foster starred in, "The Accused"? Well she had a provocative license plate that added greatly to her problems. As was mentioned, I'd stay away from plates that could identify you and, if you must have a vanity plate, try to remain car related.
