Thank you vroomin and projectdna for your advice. Just fitted my rims yesterday with 235/40/18. All good! not an aggressive set up but its much much better than my original 16 inch rims!

Fronts: 19x8.5 w/ 2" lip 225 35 19
Rears: 19x10.5 w/ 3.5" lip 275 30 19
Bolt Pattern: 5x112

This is all I know.
first off just so you know, the bolt pattern for lexus it 5x114.3
so these wont work,

as far as fitting, we need the offsets to help. It is possible for that to fit, but it would have to be like a +42 offset in the rear. and a +36 in the front.

But not knowing the offsets, i couldnt tell you if they would or not.

What size of tires would I have to run in order for Vossen VVS-083 20" front 9" 38 offset and rear 10.5" 45 offset without rubbing or rolling fenders. The car is stock ride height. Also would I run into any problems if I was to lower the car? Car is a 2006 IS250

I'm at stock ride height and will continue to be. Not going lower then stock ride height.

PROBLEM is my tire size calculator states that the rear size is 3.06% difference over stock and can result in brake failure... Is that true?
The 19's offset are: 19x8 fronts and 19x8.5 rear all 4 are +35 offset. Will they fit?

Lastly, will our speedometer compensate for the bigger tires and adjust the speedo to read the correct speed I'm going?

no, your speedo will not recalibrate itself to read the correct speed. and neither will your odometer to record your driven mileage.

based on your wheel specs, you should just run 225/35-19 and 255/35-19 instead of trying to max out the widest tires you can mount on those wheels (19x8/8.5 +35). but seeing how you're dead set on 245's and 285's, try 30-series instead of 35-series to stay as close to oem rolling diameter.
What if I want OEM size sidwall which is what I'm going for here too. And if I like meaty tires (as you said) "dead set on wide rubber"
I know it will slow my car down and look retarded. But will it rub?

255/30/20 rear 225/30 front and you should be good. you might rub lightly on the fender liner. which all you do is see where it touches. take a heat gun to that part of the liner, take a flat rock or something like that and push the liner in where it rubs. takes ice water in a spray bottle and spray the plastic where you pushed it back, the plastic will cool and stay where you pushed it back.

going with a bigger sidewall and bigger tires like your talking about, will throw the speedo way off, and cause problems with braking but i dont think failure.

i would run 235/35 front and 265/35 rear. those would be the largest tires i would mount on those widths. but i would honestly suggest what project already sayed.

yes.

and possibly during high lateral loads, potholes, and sudden elevation changes.

btw, i have reservations that 245/285 can be mounted to a 8/8.5-wide set-up. but even if you try to prove that you can and succeed, the marginal advantages (especially for daily driving) will be negated by the fact that your speedo and odo won't read correctly anymore.

a good non staggered steup would be 18 or 19x9+38 with 235/40/18 or 235/35/19 all around

Thanks for the input!

Questions on tires:
So my rims are as follows:

F 19 x 8.5 +35 Hankook 235/35-19
R 20 x 10 +40 Hankook 275-30-20

I am rubbing with my coilovers installed while the rear is tucked maybe 1 finger, and front is just about flush with the fender.

In the rear I rub on the rear bumper tab. I've ground some of this down, but it still rubs. I figure instead of taking that tab completely off, maybe I should switch to smaller tires.

The front fenders are shaved down but I'd like to have less fear of destroying my fender... and I don't want to go higher if I can avoid it. So I'm thinking of going from a 235 to a 215.

What are the best tires to look at in terms of rounded sidewalls?
Toyo Proxy 4
Yokohama S-drives
Anything else?

I think one issue is that the Hankooks have a fairly square sidewall so instead of continuing to hack away at sheet metal, maybe I should change up the tires and then see how it goes from there.

with going to a 235 and a 215 you wont have to worry about it rubbing any more.

19x8.5 +35 and 19x9.5 +40. Would a 235/35/19 front and a 275/30/19 rear work? Stock height for now, but will be dropped on tein s techs in a little bit

Necessary to shave the rears?

235/35-19 + 275/30-19 should work.

and no need to shave the rears until you go lower than s-techs.

Run a 3-5mm slip on spacer and thatll fix it. 275 tires jesus no wonder its rubbing! +40 is why its rubbing on the coilover. if u didnt go such a homo offset and massive tires it wouldnt rub.
