I ma in LA area. I just made the police report and called my insurance company.

Would i be able to get anything out of this such as the GFX rear or is that not possible?

I called the witness and thanked him but i feel like i owe this guy a beer or cigs if he smokes or something.

 

If you have comprehensive coverage, then you should have been covered even without the information of the driver that hit you. At least that's how my policies work.

Definitely show some appreciation to the Samaritan who left the note. He went out of his way to help out a stranger. Most people would just say "Wow, that's messed up" and then go on with their lives.

I highly doubt you can get any upgrades through insurance though. They will only replace what was damaged.

 

its unfortunate that some people still cowardly attempt to evade responsibility. fortunately, there are some good patrons who do witness these things and try to help out someone else. its always nice to have someone there, even a stranger, who can aid in bringing justice. the guy who wrote down the info not only helps you with regards to the repairs but also resolution from an idiotic move by someone else- no matter if it is an elderly lady. good deeds go a long way!
