Really? So is it illegal if we black it out?

It the DOT requires that all US spec vehicles have an amber reflector on the front, then yes, it would be illegal to black them out. Same goes for the red reflectors on the back of the car.

its illegal to black them out, but then again its illegal to smoke the back reflectors and its also illegal to tint your front windows but we do it anyways.

is there? i never noticed any leds that light up this amber section. i've always wanted to find out how i can modify or access that section of the headlight so that i can put in some leds. anyone with any ideas?

It lights up at night. You can probably take it apart and put some leds in there. It would look cool, I saw online a Scion TC with modified headlights and he put a whole array of leds on the turnsignal, soo bright. You can probably make the amber section even brighter.

you sure it lights up? i'm in the UK and have the european edition and i'm sure it doesnt, i checked it lots of time to see if i can see any light but nothing. when my lights are on at night it just looks like a reflector. anyone know if the entire headlight housing has to be dismantled or just that section can be?

From what I remember on mine, it glows a little from the bottom of the strip. I don't often see it though to really remember. It either was that or reflected in a certain way that time. I think it's probably both though, reflector and may or may not have a little led.
