Default Your Recall Thoughts

Hi all,

I know I havent posted much on the forums but im constantly lurking and reading everything. I just wanted to know some of the members thoughts on this whole "Toyota Sudden Accelerator" recall. Theres been so many people coming foward and now Lexus models have been added onto the list. Just the other day a lady survived an "ES350 nightmare" and everyone is claiming its due to faulty ECU's.

What are your thoughts? And keep in mind that insurance companies are considering jacking up our rates and decreasing the resale value of our cars.

First thing, this is a repost. I am sure there is a discussion post somewhere in our forum.

Second, I am a die-hard Toyota fan so I won't change my love in Toys regardless the final verdict from the court.

I guess the mods deleted my thread about this. Yesterday they also mentioned they cut back on quality and safelty to save money. And that the gas pedel mod may not in fact really solve the problem. It looks like it may be more computer related then mechanical. Wonder if throwing it in neutral doesnt allow you to stop the car sometimes? Im starting to wonder if theres more behind this then they are telling. My work vehicle is an 09 matrix and I had the recall done yesterday. I really have no choice but to drive this every day. I know what to do it something goes wrong and if it ever does and I live im sueing the billion dollar company I work for, lol. But this is making me think twice about gettin an IS for my personal car. I still probably will though, maybe ill get a good deal since there rep. is in the *****ter now, lol

Toyota's reputation will be down the toilet for the next few years, similar to what happened to ford and their defective tires. I should have waited a extra month before buying my IS, may have gotten a larger discount. This is the best time to buy a toyota at a seriously low price.

i know i wont be getting any recalls done on MY IS becuase the recall shortens the pedal and makes it so went he gas and brake are pressed simultaneously the car goes into neutral. Again. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE 2IS AT ALL! ITS JUST THE IDIOTS WHO DONT KNOW HOW TO INSTALL ALL WEATHER MATS PERFECTLY. NOTHING IS WRONG WITH OUR CARS....Tired of these threads. Atleast 4 a week pop up.

so many threads about this garbage... its honestly not going to happen to you ...

if you have the incorrect mats that ARENT on the hooks then u may have a problem but thats ur fault to begin with

make sure u got the right mats for ur car and are installed properly then you wont have this problem

/close !

Please at least use search before you accuse the moderator team of removing your posts... your post is right here with a link to the main recall thread where you and other members can discuss this topic. We don't need 500 posts covering exactly the same thing please.
