So long as all of his research follows good logical progression I think everyone should just calm down.

Research uncovers things sometimes that no one wanted to address, but there it is anyhow.

Maybe instead of trying to point out that Gilbert was wrong by emailing a lot of letters to various people, Toyota should prove (by similar methods used by Gilbert) that his research may have alternate findings. If you want to argue with someone, you both have to be sitting at the same table first.

I believe Exponet, one of the country's leading engineering and scientific consulting firms,tested Gilbert's theory and found the results would apply to just about every auto manufacurer's accelerator set up.

IIRC they were able to replicate the same with an Accord.
