Smog Detector?
I've read somewhere on this forum that the car has that feature.
I drive in the city a lot so I'm pretty close to other cars. Needless to say, I can smell exhaust quite easily.
If I keep my ventilation on Auto, is the smog detector on? I tried it today and it doesn't automatically switch to recirculate even though the interior stunk.
How exactly does it work? There's also another a button...several buttons to the left of it.. I guess its to purge the interior of smelly air.. THAT one works. But it turns on manually..

On the IS350, if you keep the "auto" button turned on for recir/fresh air, it will change to recirc automatically if the air quality gets bad. You can chance the sensitivity by holding down the "auto" button for a few seconds. The nav screen will change to a settings screen for same.
