They're in rosemead, california right next to the high school.

Good review on yelp: http://www.yelp.com/biz/california-tint-inc-rosemead

5 Windows for about 120 to 140 ish. Lifetime warranty. There's a lot of tinting places in la, but this is one of the best when it comes to quality of work.

IL finally passed a law this year allowing window tinting!! I so want this for my IS.....however I am worried about finding a decent installer. Does anyone know any great installers in IL? I have a hard time trusting a stranger with my baby.

I would Umbra Windows in Schaumburg, IL. Their prices are a little high, but I am happy with it so far; visit the Chicago Lexus Club board, there are few other shops that people take their cars to.

My last car I had 17 in the back and 35 up front. I could see fine sometimes I would have to roll down my window to back out of a dark driveway. Got mine done for 180 with a lifetime warranty.

quick question for the people in CA. Since we can not tint the front driver n passenger window at all, how do people get away with it? I see lots of cars on the road with all windows tinted. If someone were to get cited for having the front windows tint, they would have to remove tint, go to get it signed off by highway patrol, then go and get the tint back on? Isn't that a bit of hassle to have fronts tinted? Just wondering guys. I plan on doing all my windows on my IS some time in the future.

I've never been cited for having 35% tint on 2 front windows in 10 years.

But I have a police officer friend that will gladly sign off on a fix-it ticket if I happen to get one.

You can get away with 70% tint for the front windows, cops can't tell far away. Usually the very light tint needs a good tint material to reject the heat, I've used V-kool and 3M Crystalline and works very well, even better than darker tint using cheap material.

Can I borrow your friend if I get a fix-it ticket in the future?
BTW, yesterday when I went home on 880 I saw a speed chase past just right next to me, I got VERY lucky the guy didn't hit me, and then follow by 10-12 cop cars and 1 helicopter.

The cop connection actually is a family thing on my wife's side, could come in handy.

Glad you avoided trouble on the chase scene on 880, sounds dangerous.

i got 35% metallic (reflective) done at xlnt tint in anehim for around $200. got the $30 warranty in case i get a fix it ticket. so far so good. i like the 35% metallic becuase it's kinda clearer in the day so cops wont hassle you and at night it's dark so people can't see in.

Yikes, I paid $380! I got it done by one of the best installers in the Bay Area (Vince at Omega Werks) and paid a premium for the LLumar Axcess tint. 35% all around and can see pretty well at night. Only complaint is the light refraction that occurs, but that's with all tints.
