Lightbulb 3k hid fogs dilemma help??

So I recently put a 3k hid kit for my fogs from another company but was not happy with the shade of yellow. I regrettably didn't go with one of the other supporting vendors on this forum. I was after the golden/dark yellow rather than the highlighter/light yellow that produced. This kit almost looks light green blended with the oem 4300k bulbs.

Is the difference in color mainly in the bulb or ballast used. If I order a 3k bulb like from HIDextra will it produce a similar color from their kit? I don't really want to mix and match bulbs and ballasts but its already done and i have no desire to rip my bumper off again.

My other option is to go matching 6k bulbs for both low and fogs. My questions is will this match seeing is how I would be using factory and aftermarket ballasts?

Ive been searching for a few days but can't seem to get a definitive answer. What do you guys suggest??

Thanks

Or maybe not haha. I think two overlays would be just diminish any benefit of having HID fogs

Not sure if it goes that low, but they have 2500k bulbs, just not HID bulbs.

I was told by xenondepot that if the bulbs break in after 100 hrs it would be more yellow. Also, do you guys think if the bulb was coated yellow, it'll produce a more yellow output?

Coated yellow bulbs will be more yellow at least in my experience. It still won't be yellow yellow like standard 3k bulbs.

if you want golden yellow i think nokya 2500k bulbs are the best. but, if you're looking for more brightness then 3k hid fogs are better.

I got my kit from HIDextra and I can tell you that the color will still look the same. It really doesn't bother me on the brightness and color too much because I would figure thats what the HIDs are made for. Like one of the previous post, the Nokya 2500k would give you the color you are looking for.

Thats interesting, I did not know that bulbs were broken in more than 15 mins like the instructions told. I would imagine the color would begin to fade lighter

I was gonna go that route but saw other members insisting on 3k hid fogs.

Do you have a pic from your kit? The ones ive seen from HIDextra do look golden yellow and I was told by a rep that the color comes from the bulb and its chemical inside along with the tint of the bulb

Now im confused. I might just go with 6k bulbs for my lows and fogs. It seems like with HID its a hit or miss on the desired color
