But you can certainly pass the two off together under normal conditions. Some of us can tell and some can't. I can tell right away when there's paint variations I guess it's a trait. It does bug me but I've learned to deal with it

i don't see a diff i used to have an obsidian IS250... but i was along with a guy who had black onyx and we painted both our front grilles matching my car... but it had 0 difference... and i sold my sideskirts to an 06 black onyx.. it was practically flawless
so apparently the naming engineers played games with corporate management eh?
