Stock tire question - swapping sizes

I have the 2008 18'' IS wheels. I'd like to replace the front (225/40/18) with something meatier/wider like a 245/40/18.

Is that possible? Or do I need a narrower tire?

Please help a newbie out. Thanks.

I have 235/40/19 (sport package car).

And it rubs ever so slightly.. Can't wait to go back to 225/40/18.
