I just bought a lumix lx3 point and shoot camera, the guy at the store told me this is the camera that aimed at DSLR users who are looking for a compact camera to complement their existing SLR. So i thought i could give it a try. This camera is not cheap tho, if you dont have a DSLR, for the price you can get an entry level DSLR, but as a back-up camera to the DSLR i think it's perfect. here is some shoot i took last night.The setting was only
auto mode, pics can be much better if you take time to use manual settings.

LX3 is a sweet camera cause it has the ccd sensor.

I have a lumix tz5 which doesn't have the ccd sensor but is still a great camera overall.

LX3 is the same as Leica D-Lux 4, they share the same lens. LX3 is $500. Leica is much more expensive. It's a great all around camera but very short zoom.

 

The lumix line is the closest pns cameras on the market to the slr
but again, they are not cheap, so I wouldn't sugguest people
to buy it if you want slr quality. For the same price you can get
an entry level dslr which is alot faster and you can change lenses too.
