Correct me if I'm wrong, but the smartcard key that I hear about is a credit card sized key that can be placed into the wallet right?

This is something different from the small remote with the buttons?

Is it standard on the 2010, for the 350? Can't see it on Lexus.

The wallet key is only standard for the LS600h. Even the LS460 doesn't get it.

 

In Canada (not sure about the US) the wallet key is included in all 2010 IS models when you buy the F-sport package.

 

I think you can get the smart key thing for 2IS but you need to bring the smart key to the agent for format so that it can be replacement for your 2IS's actual key. Well, maybe I'm wrong but I think I got the info from this forum.. :S

I think its available for 06-07 2IS models only.

 

All 06+ ISx50 can use this key. There is a production change in march '08 so there are two different part numbers. You will need to have your parts guy look this up since more than likely they will be making money on it so they can do their own research on it. Also '08+ use a one sided key so you can't get the key shank for the '06 and '07 models. The key is compatible for all years ISx50 models.

I believe it does, i think you can have it cut to your VIN when you order or bring it to your local dealer? correct me if im wrong?

 

So you have a MY 2010? I ordered one back in September and was given a preliminary delivery date of January. I think the sales guy told me they won't start making them until November. I might have misinterpreted him, though. It could be the case that production until November had already sold out...

Did you get the multimedia package? I tried out the iPod integration in the IS 250C, and it was great. MY 2010 IS 250 should have the same one.

 

How do you program it without taking it to the dealership or can you?

 

MY2010 cars have been available for at least a month or two now (they're usually available mid-late sept/first week of october)
