TPMS light -- 2010 models different???

TPMS light -- 2010 models different???
So, I put my G-spiders on today and haven't gotten the sensors programmed yet. But, to my amazement, the TPMS indicator light seems different than on previous models.
It was my understanding that on the previous models, the triangle and an error message would light up on the dash. Well, not on my 2010.
Instead, all I get is an indicator light lower right of the dash. It flashes for about 30 seconds, and then stays solid, and that's it.
No flashing/constant triangle, no "system check" or other errors. Just a small orange light in the corner of the dash similar to the seat belt indicator light.
Is that normal for other models, or is that something new?
