Default Got rear-ended today (pics!)

Yeah heading back from the UNCW car club meet got hit by a ford explorer at 45 while I was stopped basically... Me and my passenger are fine as well as the other driver. However the IS is nowhere as lucky...

How have these cars done as far as being totaled, I dont want it repaired only had 15K miles

PICS:

Seat broke in half!

Glad that you and your passengers are doing well.

It does look like it can be claimed a total loss. Depending on how strict/lenient the adjusters are will determine that.

Hey man. Just went through the same exact accident my car looked just like it. Im having them fix it. I have my doubts though.... Everyone knows it will never be like the factory made it but you gotta deal man. I should get mine back in two weeks. Hopefully in time to let you know if it rides the same :/ GOODLUCK with your decision.

I'd consider this a total lost. Hopefully the claim adjuster will think the same. Glad you are ok but the pain will kick in very soon...

Nowhere near a total loss. My previous car, a tC, suffered a much worse hit than this ($11k in damages) and they still didn't total it. I doubt they will do it with a car that is worth twice as much. Good to hear everyone is okay though.

uhmm I would make their insurance company total it if my something like that happened to my car. I bet there is a decent amount of frame damage under all that as well.
