get a 350! and do suspension mods, u won't regret it. but if u end up going BMW somehow don't get a hardtop convertable 335i cuz then you'll be slower than a 350. hardtop covertables weight a good 400-500 pounds more due to all the equipment

what? I have both cars and I don't have the best info/opinions? Since you don't have a IS350 nor 335i I don't think you should be talking sht..
To the OP: if you like to mod your car for cheap, get a 335i but warranty with extended warranty is a must. Don't worry about maint. since it is free. You can easily push out 400 HP/400 torque with just 1 mod.
If you want a comfortable car get a IS350. I use the is350 as my daily commute since it is more comfortable and saves more gas for city driving. Not only that, I did not want to hear my overly loud exhaust every second of my commute.
Also the IS350 does not have much performance aftermarket modifications for it.
My best opinion is to drive both and see which one you like. If you are looking for a used car you should get a IS350 but if your looking for a new car you should get a 335i. Just my $.02..

omg don't do it...u'll regret it when u realize how stupid and lacking the features (aside from ride and engine) on a BMW are...seriously...for the money you pay, you gotta expect more than just "a good ride"...the 350 isnt bad if u swap out the suspension and sways

Ok, well im just gonna throw my .02 in...
the IS, for a similar price, if not cheaper than the BMW has:
Paddle shifters (gear limites )
Heated/ventilated seats
HID with AFS
6 CD changer IN the dash (i believe BMW's changer is in the trunk... at least it was in the previous generations)
quieter ride
better steering (BMW has crazy hard/stiff steering at slow speeds)
Not to mention better reliability
Cheaper replacement parts
Better Dealer service
And this AWESOME forum
thats just off the top of my head... The IS IMO is a better value.

sucks having to bring your car to the dealership all the time for stupid stuff like power windiws, sensors, etc. I like BMW's but lexus is always a smarter decision, i had t meke the same one

funny thing about all the electronic problems, my cuz's e46 had the windows fail too.
on a side note, saw an old bmw that was traded in as a cash for clunker. the oil was drained completely and ran on acid. it ran for half a day at max rev and that thing would not die

i don't think you'll end up on the right side of the deal if you do make the trade. considering that the 335 is even more expensive than a comparably equipped is350, and that you won't fetch anywhere near fair value for your is250 (even if it was showroom condition), it's a huge financial burden.
also, considering the 335's well-documented reliability issues, you sure you want an "off-road vehicle"? (joke: it's at the authorized service center so often, it's never on the road...)
now, if you said you wanted to jump to a 328, i can understand. even so, or if you're truly set on the 335, i'd definitely cross-shop others within their respective classes.

I'd like you to sit down for a moment and think long and hard about what you've just said, Mr. sandwiches, because that makes absolutely no logical sense to me whatsoever. You should consider looking at the IS350, because my thoughts are that you will greatly regret trading in a sporty, reliable car for an electrical nightmare (an expensive one at that).

Goto the 335! Steering feedback, brake pedal feel and handling are all things that the 250 can't compete with! As for GiantsFan, you really feel Lexus has better steering for performance/spirited drives???
As for a DD, I wouldn't ask for anything else than my 250, but if I wanted a fairly competent daily that can take the twisties and keep up in drag races then I'd most definitely get the 335.
