Potential New IS250 owner wondering about initial cost
Hello there! I'm in the process of calculating how much the initial cost of a new IS250 will be. I will probably have a $7,000 down payment. Tax in CA is now 9.75% so I know to add that to the total plus the $875 shipping fee or something.
What are the initial DMV (registration) costs? What is the average insurance monthly cost (I have had only one accident 8 years ago and it was not my fault).
Any estimates are welcome! I just don't want to be to surprised if the price is far more than I initially thought. Thank you!

I would suggest some research on some car sites like kbb.com or edmunds to find the true cost of ownership...

Registrations fees went up I believe in July or May of this year...I just got my Honda Odyssey registration renewal up by 40 bucks from last year!!...Can't wait for my IS350 renewal to arrive. You should add 13% to your car price to get a sense of what you will be paying OTD. As for insurance, it all depends who's your Insurance company...I paid about 65 bucks a month for my IS350, that because I have Home, Auto (multiple cars), and Life with Allstate...I get all of those nice discounts. So with insurance your going to get different prices. Oil changes at home, Oil filter from Carson Toyota (2 for 10), Oil from Walmart...Overall I spend about 42 bucks an oil change, no one better than the owner to give my car some TLC!!

Fees did go up this year. My 2008 IS DMV fee was > $400 for the 1st renewal and that's more than I paid when I bought the car (~$200)
Dealer's oil change will be about $70. My insurance breaks down to about $70 a month but yours may differ.
Don't forget to factor in tire costs when looking at the 3-5 year costs for the car. They're sport tires and will run between $800-$1000+ to change the set. It isn't an initial cost but the finance/dealer might try to talk you into getting the tire package like they did me and you'll want to be able to compare that price (plus all dealership servicing or else the tire package is invalidated) with the cost of a new set of tires. The math didn't work out in my favor.

Talk about wanting to scare the new is250 owner away my god thats expensive. Anyway I have 2 Is250 and an Is350 and they are all about the 100 to 120 range for me. (others in the household drive the cars) I have state farm in sacto cali and its pretty reasonable. I have an accident on record as well and yet its still pretty cheap I think. I love the Is250/350 and think they are completely worth the money. I just renewed my 06 IS350 and it was 312 for it. Anyway hope this helps, and I am sure you will love the car.

Insurance rates are very dependent on multiple factors. You may qualify for multiple car discount, good student discount (if you're still a student), a discount for being a professional (engineer, etc.), multi-insurance discount (house insurance, life insurance, etc if you use the same company for all), garage discount. It's also dependent on your zip code, driving history, others on the policy, your credit, etc. I'm sure there's more factors, but that's an example of what they look at, and is why insurance rates vary so much. Someone else's rates will not really be a good factor in deciding what your next car should be.
My best recommendation is to call your insurance company and ask them for a quote.

A) It generally requires you get all recommended service done, and done at the dealership- that alone will end up costing you a lot more than many many sets of new tires.
B) You're generally stuck with the crappy OEM tires offered by the dealer
