I need to replace my tires, and went to discount tire for quote and was advised to purchase the goodyear F1 ZR's. I have had a bad experience with the 'look' when going aftermarket on my last car. We all know that just because a tire is good DOESN'T mean it's good for the car's 'look' nor 'handling'....
Anyone have a good tire that looks and feels good on the lexus IS250? Thanks

 

I have the is 250 front 225/40's rear is 255/40's

 

Michelin PS2s ... they look good, perform GREAT. I have them on my FiveAxis S5:F.

Also, I read somewhere that it is the "recommended" tire for the F-Sport wheel and actually shortens the stopping distance for the car... but now I can't seem to find the link to where I read that...

 

You might want to look into the PS2 and F1 GS-D3

 

Car and Driver recently had an article comparing wet and dry performance of 10 "economy" performance tires compared with the benchmark PS2. I'm using it to buy my next set of tires. At least a couple of tires in that comparison (a Dunlop and a Hankook) appeared to be every bit as good as the PS2, with higher treadwear ratings.

I'm not cheap, but spending upwards of $300/tire for 20k miles probably meets the definition of clinically insane. Driving the average 12k miles/year, you'd be spending about $60/month just on tires.

i ran nitto invo's on oem 18's before. they were a decent replacement for the oem dunlop sport maxx's.

i would also consider michelin pilot sport ps2's.

I'm pretty happy with my Dunlop Direzza Z1's. May be a bit low on the treadwear rating for what you're looking for though. I can tell you what not to get: Bridgestone Turanzas. They're what came on the car, worst tire I've ever owned.

 

Thankfully mine didn't come with these, but my Scion tC did, and I agree - worst tires ever sold.

Hankook Ventus K110 looks like they're good on some posts I have been readin. For the set of 4 Discount tire will charge 730.69 out the door with install. I think that's a decent deal, ill do some more research tho

Pretty interesting reading...I'd been fairly sold on getting some PS2s when my from-the-factory tires were ready for replacement... but those Hankook Ventus V12 Evos put up pretty impressive results against the PS2s, at half the price.

 

very interesting read... i might have to try those hanhook's after my ps2's wear out.

 

how do you like the PS2? How many miles do you have on it already?
