I've been visiting this forum for a couple months in researching the IS and last week I pulled the trigger on a '09 250 AWD. This was a surprise 30th birthday present for my wife. She nicknamed the car Betty White, and although I will primarily be the one on the forum, she insisted that the user name be bettywhite.
Still have a ton of questions and have lots of reading to do on here to get caught up, but I've appreciated the information that I've received to date and just wanted to pass that along. Seems to be a good group.
Attached are a couple pics, but it's still all stock (except for 20% window tint) so you probably don't need pics. Excited to get modding. So, if anyone has an interest in some 17" OEM wheels with less than 500 miles on them...
Welcome aboard.......and I know you secretly wanted to used that screen name for yourself don't blame the wife...haha...J/K,J/K..have fun during your stay!!!
BTW good color choice...too many SGM's and Obsidian already..I'll dodge the flames coming after my statement
thanks everyone for the welcome. my wife is definitely up for new wheels. i'll have to try to encourage her on some other things, but i think if she spends a few days on this forum she'll get the bug.
i'm leaning towards 19's - i think they provide the best overall look - i just need to do some more research on fitment and offsets - esspecially with the awd - i'm still a little confused on how some are doing the staggering. also, i want to get more educated on suspension adjustments and impact on ride quality.
lots to learn, but that's half the fun in my opinion.
Suspension adjustments and impact to ride quality are well...a fairly inverse relationship. To look better, it's going to cost you ground clearance
To drive sportier, it's going to cost you that plush Lexus ride
To corner better, get sways and it'll cost you $300 and nothing else. haha
Welcome to the forum. I think the wheels would look fine with a mild drop. I for one like the Lexus OEM wheel style. Only other wheel I would consider is the Work CR-Kai because they look like the stock staggered 18" wheels from the 06-08 year models. To each their own. Good luck and don't look at the totals of mods!
