Ticketed for Front window tint
Are you talking about the 118 near Simi Valley? The 405 doesn't go to Simi Valley =/ I'm just wondering, because I live in Chatsworth, and I take the 118, 405, and 5 all the time. I haven't gotten my tint yet, but oh man; getting pulled over at 50% front tint?! I was going to get 35% all around too.
FWIW, the patrols on the 118 are pretty heavy in the NW Valley. I'm in Northridge, but usually drive with all windows down.
Yes, 118... sorry about that.

^^ true true, and my post is more of a warning for people in this particular area since those cops seem to actually care.
The truth is, in CA most cops don't even bother you unless you are completely dark.
Since you are from FL you understand how hot the car gets in a state with lots of sunshine like CA... so most people here have the tint because it keeps the car cooler and it's less painful than full sunshine coming in from the side.
Oh, and just to be clear it's not my front windshield, but my driver's door windows (which is still also illegal in CA).

^^ Good clarification, especially for us California people. The warning is appreciated too.
IMHO, lack of front plates, heavily blacked-out brake/tail/side lights, 20% tint on front side windows are going to get more negative attention from cops (in that order) in California. Tinted front windshields are extremely rare here.

Damn they are really tough over there in Cali on tints huh?? I got pulled over the other night for speeding here in Miami and sure enough the cop told me to roll both windows half way down and when he put the meter on them..... 3% lol. So I got 3 tickets 1 speeding(criminally) and 2 for the windows. And then the FHP tells me to just get a reciept that I removed the tints and take it to court when I go for the speeding ticket and he'll let me go on the tints. And I asked him you sure I dont need any pictures or anything else and he said nope just a receipt that I removed them, and Im thinking in my head you know what im gonna do, just go to my buddy's shop that does tints and tell him to just give me a receipt that I "removed" my tints... people dont think!!, g/l
^^nice.
What always worried me is that it gives the a REASON to pull you over... so after dinner and 2 beers, you are now at risk for getting a DUI.
I guess it's better off without the tint for this reason, but man it's going to look so silly with no tint on the front!

I can't be bothered with the rolling down windows every time I pass a Starbucks or doughnut shop.
