Lost my only FOB key... =*(.. Help!
Hey guys. I bought a used 07 IS250 this year with only one FOB key.
I was walking at the mall today and realized the FOB was missing. I still have the metal key, just the FOB part came off.
The car is parked at a public place so I need to move it soon. What is the best option for me right now?
I'm aware that I need to bring the car to a lexus dealer to get a new FOB programmed. Is there any way to start the car with metal key only? If not, does Lexus' roadside assistance cover towing expenses?

Yeah, I just confirmed that car wont start without the fob, however the towing expense will be covered.
Anyone got a smartcard key programmed to their 07 IS250? I'd rather get a smartcard instead of a FOB if it's possible.

I don't see why not. It depends if the dealership is far or close by. Because AAA is willing to tow my car within a few mile for free.

you can get the card key overnighted from Sewell...probably cheaper than the dealer unless they are will to price match. and purchase another key on ebay or something.
You will pay for the key programming...so might as well pay once and get two keys done at the same time.

Unfortunately your car will need to be at the dealership to have a key reprogrammed. I'm pretty sure it will have to be towed. Sorry to hear of your misfortune.
That's why i prefer using the OEM leather case.. loop my keyring around the blade and the pouch.
Just incase the blade comes off.. you still have the keyfob attached.
Goodluck!

Hey guys... I got my car towed to the near Lexus dealer. The expense was covered by the road assistance.
I asked the service tech if they ever programmed smartcard key to a 2007 IS250. They said they never have. Is the procedure different for programming the FOB key vs the smartkey?
