So my park assist works sometimes then other times it doesnt. I noticed it wasnt working a couple weeks ago then i messed with it by turning the volume up and down ect. and the next day it was working again. Now its back to not beeping again when i park and the park assist screen never shows up when im parking either. I also have to recalibrate my current location on my navigation like every 2 weeks because it starts saying im on roads that im not. My cars still under warranty, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
If you have an '06 with the original map DVD, there was a bug in the software that causes the problem you are experiencing. Look for the word "GPS" under the map scale indicator. It should come on within 30 seconds of starting the car, and stay on unless you are in a parking structure or other place where the signal would be blocked. If this is what you are suffering from, there is a TSIB that will replace your map DVD with one that has updated software.

i have the 09 is 350 and i dont have park assist?
is that some kinda special package u have to pay for??
Yea my car is an 06,,, so is this updated dvd thing alot of money or since its a bug does Lexus honor in fixing it since my car is under warranty??
Since you are under warranty, you have two alternatives:
To get it fixed for free, just show your dealer the problem and ask that they perform TSIB EL013-06. That will replace the DVD with one that has corrected software but the same maps you have now. Be aware that if you use the "override" function to enter destinations while driving, that feature is disabled with the updated software.
The other alternative, which is not free, is to purchase and install the latest map DVD (ver 8.1). This will give you corrected software and brand new maps. You'll lose the override function, but won't have to press the "I agree" screen every time you start the car. Depending on how greedy your dealer is, this will cost $250-$300.
