Smile XM Addition?

I have a non-nav, 2006 IS350. I will be keeping my car a long time, and I'd like to add XM radio if it's not too expensive, and can be integrated into my car (no ugly little screen or antenna). I see the AM/SAT button on my stereo right now.

Has anyone done this, and any recommendations of places/dealerships to get it done? thanks!

I bought the OEM one (which integrates with your car), and installed it myself (and I have 0 mechanical ability). I purchased it through one of the sponsored vendor (Sewell Lexus). You may find a cheaper one on here or through an auction-related website, but Sewell was great to work with and they have stood behind their products. I have a nav equipped 07. The radio went in the trunk and hooked to the nav antenae. It was really easy install. For 06 you'll hav e to place the antenae on the roof or rear deck. My local dealer was cheaper than Sewals.
Should integrate with your stereo in you hav e Sat/AM button. Sewalls is $300 with Club Lexus discount. Call first to make sure it will work in your car. I'm sure a SEARCH will reveal a wealth of information on the sub ject, like XM goes in the trunk and Sirius behind the dash. Good Luck!

Here's a thread showing a pic of where I put mine:

And here's a thread showing a pic of the antenna by itself:

thank you guys so much for your help! i've been reading all of the other links, and i'm leaning toward installing it myself now. the dealer quoted me $700 total, parts and labor. but, if i can get the part for $300 at sewell, why not try, right?

biggest dilemma: i really dont want to have the antenna show (unless there was a way to add the shark fin to my car). i've heard that there can be reception issues, however. is there anyone who has the antenna under his front or rear windows, and has perfect reception?

thanks in advance!
