Default XM Radio?

I'm trying to find out if anyone got the XM radio add-on put in? I've been thinking about getting it but it is $450 bucks just for the hardware - no install. Does it require an antenna?
I'd like to see some pics if possible.

Plenty have...search button is your friend. Satellite radio will always require an antenna.

I installed XM on my IS a couple of months ago. I would say the hardest (and most time consuming) is taking all of the panels out of the car. You pretty much have to remove all the panels in the trunk. Overall, it's a pretty easy install. The kit comes with the antenna. Thankfully they now include a micro antenna.

$450 ? Sewell Lexus has the OEM kit for much less. Here's the link:

Sewell XM

An additional 10% off is available with the Club Lexus discount.

Anyone got photos or tips on how to install the antenna on the rear deck? I'm not sticking that thing to my trunk lid.

Thanks

I posted this a while back:

just ignore the step about attaching the antenna to the trunk and run the cable up behind the rear seat, between the C-pillar and seat belt, and hide the cable in between the interior paneling. Mine looks like this:

I'm waiting for Sirius. I like their content better. Though the two may merge sooner or later anyway which will make it a moot issue.

You better hope not. The competition keeps the rates down.
Same with DirecTv and Dish satellite service.

Fine...only clips out in tunnels or if very heavy tree cover blocks its line of sight.

I didn't take any photos but then you can't see my antenna. Mine is under the back deck panel. Seems to work fine except in the regular problem areas like garages and heavy tree cover. Install took about 1 hour. Didn't bother removing all the trunk panels, only losened the right side and the top cover, worked around the panel while it remained in place. It's heck on your back, but saves lots of time and plastic clips. Works like a champ.

Same with DirecTv and Dish satellite service.
Uh, DirecTV and Dish are owned by the same company. Rupert Murdoch aka News Corp owns both.

This thread is now off-topic. Furthermore, what you've stated is incorrect. It's true that Ruper Murdoch owns shares in Echostar and the shares are owned by himself but not under News Corp. and in no way has majority control of Echostar in the operation of its business. It's like saying Clear Channel owns and controls XM which is also entirely false.

Cheers,
Kermee

Default pricing.

I am looking at XM radio, would you say prices vary from dealer to dealer? I seem to be confused as sewell charges 299 and others are 450. Would you say dealer cost on a part like this?
