What in Jesus is going on?
I took my 06 IS350 to the dealership this morning w/o an appointment. I noticed a puddle of water behind the passenger side seat and drivers side was damped. At first, I thought my daughter had spilled a drink. No, it is another tsb. Something about the A/C housing will have to be replaced with a redesigned one. So far, I had the crank noise, rear brakes, steering module, and fuel rail, done. Did not get the dusty brakes done, my pads were down to 2ml. I am kind of dissapointed with the issues I am having. I left BMW because of their unreliability; at least at Lexus I am not going two or three times for the same problems and I had all the tsb done in one shot. Still it is dissapointing and unreassuring; with the economic situation and government interfearencing in the automotive world. This maybe the last car I could afford or wanted to buy.
My loaner is an IS250, I would have to say that I miss the amneties my loaded IS350 has and certainly the 10k difference seems more worth while.

Coming from an Audi (paperwork stacked high enough to look like a dictionary) and thier relecuctance to admit fault at time (coilpacks), I can say owning a lexus has been nothing but a breeze. Be glad happy with TSB's, another thing to consider is that the 06 is the first model introuduced
Yeah..lucky you didn't buy a 2003-2006 E-Class mercedes. I, on the other hand love that car for I make an incredible amount of money off of that model. Thank you daimlerAG.
Think of it this way.....you have a very nice automobile that you paid a lot of money for. Yes, some issues have been found that needed to be repaired in order to ensure the safety and functionality of your vehicle. Now although inconvenient, really all that cost you was time and patience. Imagine if you would a car company that didn't give a hoot about you as a customer and let your POS car live up to its name 10 times over. Nothings perfect, situations do develop, and in all reality if we let the TSIBs go most of us would never have an issue. Get em fixed, enjoy your Lexus, and be happy that you are still driving one of the best cars on the road, no ifs ands or buts about it. You could always own a Pontiac.......

^^AGREE!!! So far lexus been good to me and my sister. Their fast and reliable when any problems arise. Unlike other car companies that I've been to, they seem like they dont care about customer services at all. Well good luck with your problems and hopefully the problem will be resolve so you can get back in your 350 instead of the turtle. LOL.. no offense!!
you have water backed up because the rubber piece (which techs call it the little PU$$Y) melts and closes up so that the water that drips underneath the car gets backed up and bam in the car and then maybe(lots of people don't notice) you'll have a extremely bad odor in the car from mildew and such from the water
then you get new carpet and some company that cleans out the mildew and smell underneath your carpet and scrubs and stuff so its all nice and new again. and/or your ac condenser is what you're talking about is being replaced with the newly designed one cause that gets backed up too.
also its cause you have an 06. i noticed mostly a majority of 06's have ALL three campaigns done and the AC condenser needs to be replaced. my 07 only had the fuel rail and my ac condenser was already updated to the new one. you should have got a 07 or up lol
this car isn't too bad. at least it's getting done without charge. you basically covered most or maybe all of the issues so far with this car lol maybe you won't have any more problems? knock on the wood*

Rather than chalk it up to being the first model year, it could also be the 06's are the oldest 2IS's out there. So as far as aging and mileage goes, they are going to be the first to experience the pitfalls. Or it still could be the first model year. Or could be both factors. Either way, I sympathize with your dealings. It's no fun to have to go through all that mess when one studies and reads how reliable Lexus is. If it's any consolation, Consumer Reports still rates the IS very high, including the '06's. My '08 has pretty much been flawless and the dealership experience is like nothing I've experienced before.
Best wishes to you. If you want to rant here to let your frustrations out, I'd welcome it. Not every story is going to be roses.

Most of us '06 guys are not having any problems at all. A co-worker and I each own some of the earliest 2006 IS350s made, and neither of us has experienced a single problem. Sure, we've been asked to bring our cars in for recalls and service campaigns on three occasions -- first for the seat belt, next for the fuel pipe, and third time for the fuel rail, rear caliper inspection and steering link -- but these were entirely precautionary. The car itself has been perfect, and if I hadn't been notified to bring the car in, I'd have never known there was a problem.
