Default Spacer install

So, I am told that installing spacers isn't as easy as it looks ... Can anyone clarify exactly what needs to be done when installing one? I'm getting the H&R 15mm spacers for the rear. Local shop is charging me 100 dollars to install them and I was wondering if its easy enough to just do it myself ...

Easy one is Ichiba V2 spacers. With V1 and most H&R Spacers, you need to remove the original wheel studs. Somewhat of a harder/more permanent fixture. I'd leave it to the shop to do for $100.

To do it yourself you would need a wheel stud tool. So if you don't have one of those, I would have a shop do it. Or get the Ichiba V2 spacers which is what I have and they went on in about a 1/2 hour for all 4. Cake install.

Would the Ichiba V2's have problems with vibrations and getting loose faster than the other versions since its just direct bolt on?

It shouldn't if you torque them properly.

I haven't had mine for as long as some folks here, but I have no problems with vibrations at all.

Great thing about Ichiba's..is that they are hub centric and will keep the wheel centered. This design helps to minimize the chance of vibrations
Get the V2's so you can easily remove the spacers in the future and they are a direct bolt on application so you don't need to spend $ at the shop to swap your studs. Are you doing this on a stock wheel setup??

I have Ichiba V2 spacers and they were really easy to install... all you need is the right socket and a torque wrench to make sure you dont over tightened it...

The million dollar question is how is the reliabilty of having spacers long term? I have heard from people having them for a year with no problems, but i'm looking for those that have had spacers for 5 plus years with no bearing issues.

Just when I plan to add spacers, I find out that it can seriously mess up my car... Similar thing happened with my plans to use lowering springs, apparently the headlights get out of whack.
