I just got my '07 IS 250 yesterday (I'll post pics as soon as I get a camera to take them with!), and there's one thing I'm having some trouble with, but I'm not sure if it's the car or if it's me. Basically when I get out of the car & press the button on the handle, it usually doesn't lock. Sometimes I'll get the locking noise & the lights will turn off, but more often than not I just hear an extended soft beep & that's it. I usually try a bunch of times before either it finally locks, or I give up & just lock it with the key.

Am I doing something wrong here?

 

I notice that I'll get the long beep when one of the other doors is still open, usually due to a passenger taking his or her sweet time to get out.

If all the doors are securely shut and you are still getting the long beep, I'd take it to the dealer for diagnosis (assuming it's still under warranty)

 

I get it when there are no other passengers, and when there are I wait for them to close their door before trying to lock it.

It is under warranty & I'll take it in if there are no other options. Stupid question, but I can take it in to any Lexus dealership right? I got this from a used car dealership an hour & a half away from me.

 

Is your spare key inside the cabin of the car? I get that when my wife leaves her purse in the car with the spare in it.

 

Nope, spare key is sitting upstairs in my apartment.
