Default Removing Caliper paint??

Bought my IS350 not to long ago. Previous owner painted the calipers red but it looks really sloppy. Was wondering what is the best way to remove caliper paint. Thanks.

Well, I am assuming you do not want to dismantle the calipers.

If that is the case, you should get a pneumatic wire brush and that will take the paint off no problem. Just be very very careful around hoses and seals, etc.

If that isn't an option, you can always scuff them up with sand paper, clean them very thoroughly with some solvent, and then repaint black or something.

definitely a wire brush/sandpaper should do the trick.

aircraft paint stripper from home depot. and dont worry about it taking off the stock caliper paint....it won't. I tried to remove the stock caliper paint when I was painting my calipers and it won't come off.

the aircraft stripper will do the job and bring it back to factory condition.

you'll still need to wipe it down with some sandpaper or a wire brush.
