Question Help...?

Okay, so ... I have a 2008 IS 350 with about 15k miles on it.

I don't exactly know everything there is to know about modding cars and what's good, what's not...do this, do that. Yeah...partially clueless! So does anybody wanna waste any time letting me know a few things I could do to my car to add a little speed to it....stuff like that?

Thanks!

best suggestion is to goto a cl meet in your area, check the regional boards, see what ppl are doing to their cars. Whats 'in' in my region might not be 'in' in your area

as for more speed... well... intake and exhaust is mostly a placebo, everything is for sound/looks rather than speed.

The current batch of performance mods for the IS won't yield much additional speed, unfortunately. Luckily, the 350 is pretty fast as is.

Best bet is to get some aftermarket springs and a new set of wheels. That will change the entire complexion of your car.

Ah, didn't know that.

Thanks for the heads up.

I was thinkin' about gettin' some new wheels for it and possibly lowering it a little bit to make it look nicer...at least I can do that much right? Haha.

The 350 is pretty quick... don't know how much faster you want to go. I'd do lowering springs and a rear lip before anything else. Or at least that's on my plan sheet.

since you have a is350 my suggestion for lowering: cheep $ route get eibach is250 springs (dont get fsport/eibach is350 springs, their the same springs but dont lower enough), medium $ route is coilovers, xpensive $ route is airrunner (bags)

I'm definitely going to look into that. Thanks.
I was also wondering whats up with the "performance exhaust" that the dealership offers .. good idea? Bad idea?

As with Llamaboiz says...go to a local meet and you will see a great deal of modded IS's...if you see something that you like..the owners right there to ask...and believe me..the owners like nothing better than to talk about their cars at the mini meets....if your in SoCal follow this link
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/cl-...ight-meet.html

NorCal follow this link
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nor...xus-meets.html

Everyone you meet there are always very cool...not hard to drum up a conversation and start "shooting the S*%t" about the IS...

Good luck and always have fun with your new expensive hobby
