Damn, thats an expensive service, isnt service usually 400-1000dhs?

Sway bar will NOT fit. Definately wont fit our cars, because the US spec cars have a smaller spare tire, we have a full one, our rear sway bars need to have a bend in them, the straight ones like F sport and hotchkiss wont fit.


BTW another word of advice, dont get the chassis braces, either, because those are just for show, they will weigh the car down and make u slower. And it wont make a difference interms of cornering, unless u plan on tracking the car. For chassis stuff, just get a good pair of coils ( or springs if dont want to sacrifice ride quality) and the rear sway bar. Thats all u need for suspension. Everything else is cool

Man ive seen girls driving around in fully brabus kitted out slk's and clks adn other suped up rides. I keep telling myself its her husband/bfs car haha .

Ive even seen one chick driving around in an black IS w/ a full INGS kit, sometimes girls here have nicer cars than the guys.

 

hmm....most of the heavily modified cars that i see in dubai have got some real dark tints so you cant really see who's driving them. i guess thats why i think its usually a dude and not a dudette who is driving them

btw, how come cops dont bother people who have real dark tints on their cars in the UAE? I thought you can legally only tint them to 30%.

 

they wont bother specificly for the tints, because they cant tell who is driving, but if u DO get pulled opver for whatever reason, and ur not local of importance, or with a permit, they WILL ticket ur @$$ and make u remove the tints infront of them. i wouldnt be suprised if they start pullin people over for their tints

BTW cops here are becoming more active, they are pulling people over all the time for all sorts of things. things are getting crazy here. honestly they are killing the joy of driving.

u get pulled over, if u drive too fast, if u drive too slow, if ur car is too loud, if ur music is too loud... its getting insane

 

so you have to have a permit to get darker tints or you have to be a "local of importance"? how do you get the permit?

honestly i have never been to a city with sooo many speed cameras as in dubai. i think there are way more of them here in dubai than there are in all of germany. do i think they help? to a certain extent yes, but in all honesty i think people drive carelessly and drive fast without thinking. i mean most dont even check their blindspots before changing lanes or use their indicators ( i have seen cops change lanes without using their indicators!!!). also they should not allow anybody under the age of 21 to drive a car with more than 200hp!

 

well i think u have to go to the police to get that special permission. Not sure i never bothered with it.

As for the speed cameras all i can say is goddamn. I dunno how long u have been living in the UAE for, but 6 months ago we didnt have much, a ffew here and there. Now they went ape schit and put one every 1.5km. There is no stretch of road in the UAE that doesnt have em on it, and if they dont yet they will. Honestly for me they have killed the joy of driving. I have to cruise control it now everywhere i go.

I dont think speed was ever the problem, i think its more to do with carelessness and a very aggressive driving style, promoted by the residents of the UAE. Locals and non locals alike, anyone that has live here for 10 years or so, drive like a-holes (me included). So in a sense, the radars have made an effect (atleast w/ speeding) i dont have mortality rates, but those will surely tell us if the cameras are effective. I think we will find out that they are not. I do beleive speeding isnt the culprit rather carelessness and not driving for everyone on the road.

The way i see it, anyone with a car over 250 hp, need to have a special license, that one could obtain only by taking track courses and racing in events. eff it, i think they should have mandatory track days for anyone trying to obtain a license, that will teach them respect and how to properly handle ur car. lol

 

OH.. guys.. it's more abt the look forget the speed in dubai..

3500 in speeding tickets??!!? dammmmmmmmmn! i am glad that i havent been flashed in UAE ...ever...and i have been driving altogether for at least 6months in the past 10 years. not saying that i dont drive fast, but i only go over the speed limit on streets that i know well and exactly know where the cameras are

however i must admit that it can be quite strenuous to dodge all those speed cameras on JBR on thursday/friday nights :s

oh one question> are there any other streets where people go to on thursday/friday nights to cruise around (ahmm...drag race from one traffic light to another), or is JBR the only one in dubai?

 

damn, but thats nothing, last year i maanged to rack up 7000 dhs plus one 2 week car impound ticket, A dumb@$$ buddy of mine managed to rack up aroudn 22000dhs worth of tckts. he th worst by far!!!!

not proud of that but that way i learnt every single radar in dubai lol. U know whats messed up? when im speeding and paying attention i dont get tickets, but when im just cruising on sheikh zayed, because our lexus dont give u any sensation of speed i always end up getting ticketed. lol. atleast now i cruise control so only one ticket so far

 

hmmm, not yet wallah and I'm planning to do that. I don't like the way to works... You use the radio buttons to change song and stuff... I would like to see something better...

I just want to finish adding my mods on first then I'll do the interior.
