Default What paint should I use? EDIT: Painted My license palte frame

Got my wheels installed. now i have to go with the details. I am thinking of painting my Fsport license plate frame black to match the wheels. I knwo..... I know i can just buy one for 30 bucks, but since the f-sport one wasnt expensive i am gonna give it a try. its not like i can sell it and make much money off of it.

Question is, what paint can i use to paint my license plate frame black? I dont want mate black, not too glossy, something with some shine but not much.
or maybe use matte paint and cover it with a clear coat (will give some shine).

should i mask the part that says Fsport? or paint it black also?

Do i use something like caliper paint? i have no idea. anyone with some kind of experience on something like this?

this is what it looks like with the Fsport frame:

thanks

Try using TAMIYA brand model spray paint..that stuff works wonders for things like this.

You're probably going to need to sand and prime it first. But Tamiya paint should do the trick. If you paint the FSPORT logo you won't be able to see it, but masking that is going to be tough, probably easier to go back in and paint it what ever color you want.

I painted the frame (the old spare one): It came out exactly the same color as the wheels, I was amazed.
this is how it looks, what do you guys think?

hehe, NO it was drying as i posted. It looks good, it stands out, I think i might need to paint the emblems too. I was thinking about the sewell black emblems, but some people say they fade out easily, and they have the rainbow effect after a while on the sun. I expect more out of 200 dollar pieces of plastic.

I was thinking of masking the whole square of the fsport logo, instead of just the letters..

Hrm should of read your post before I posted mine. I was going to buy a Black License plate frame and leaving it black or color match it for my front.
