Default Messed up center console.......

Ok, just curious if any of you driving a 2IS have tarnished the center console from a spill or anything. I was driving to work this morning drinking my coffee and hit a giant *** pothole on the freeway in aiea and splashed coffee on the stereo and console by my shift ****. Left it on there until i got into town, when i wiped it off it took the paint off aswell. Now its dark grey/black console, with really light gray spots all over. Ill take pics later.

So just wondering if i got a ****ty paint job on that, or is this normal?

Never happened to me since the only thing I ever drink in my car is water, but many people have had issues with the center console paint such as air freshener liquid stripping the paint off, so I guess it is normal.

or any overlay kit. There are many of them out there. Wood, washi, aluminum, CF you name it.

Same thing happened to me in my old Camry. Wasn't anything I could really do about it except cover it. I think its normal. For your situation, since the paint has already come off and spots are starting to show, don't know if there is really anything you could do except replace it or get an overlay to cover it. Lets see the pics though. Good luck.

Happened to me in my GX except it was done by person at the dealership after I droped my car off. I bought a new console piece and the dealer installed it. Good as new, but the part was expensive.

mmm, i was looking at those overlay kits on ebay. Thier 280+shipping.

The thing is it will cover up the center console part. But the stupid coffee got onto the stereo controls and ac controls. The CF overlay doesnt seem to come with parts for there. Or is there a CF kit that covers that up too?
