you may get less than average mpg but eh... chances are there won't be any difference at all... like everyone said... run it to e, then refill with your flavor of choice...

You know what?

One time, my car was getting a few TSIB done and they gave me a loaner. Of course, I filled the loaner up with 87....when I got my car back, I was so used to filling it up with the lowest grade, I end up filling my car up with the same.

HAHA.

No sweat bro, wont damage your car but your performance will drop. =)
just drive it until it's empty and go back to the normal premium gas you always use.

No harm, no foul. People make mistakes. I would assume he misheard what you said.

Good thing it wasn't diesel because if it was, you would have been screwed. Just refill with 91 the next time you are on empty. And get gas yourself.

why does everybody say finish the tank first? why not just periodically put in 91 or 94 if convenient to dilute down the 87 instead of having more of the concentrated 87 go directly through the car...

though yes, I agree, no issue. you wouldn't even have noticed if you didn't see him.

You can do that. Those stations that offer different octane levels do a mix of high & low to get what level is chosen.

That was almost 2 months ago when it happened, hopefully the full tank was used by now with no ill effect.

Do you know that the octane of gas is made by mixing higher and lower octanes?

There is no difference between filling up with 88, than filling up with 50% 87 oct and 50% 90 oct.

Don't kill yourself over something you dont know
