Here is another DVD player. Went to Frys yesterday but ended up not buying it. Looked cheap. I am worried about these player having the same problem you have sinister. Big whine noise and the DVD player won't turn on unless engine is on.

Which one should I get? DP Video

Valor even has DVD/SD slot also.

Is this a better option compared to the Vaistech for playing videos from iPod/iPhone? How do they compare quality-wise?

Clarion has a good name but you probably will never see the difference as its such a small picture.

I saw all of them at frys...they all look to be cheap china made products like the Pyle. The valor was on display and it didn't even have a constant power on the power plug...just a ground and ACC wire.

I was hoping you guys could shed some light on a couple of questions:

1. The whine only occurs when the DVD player is hooked up, right? If one were to hook up an IPOD...there would be no whine?

2. Someone described a lag between the video and sound...has anyone else noticed this problem?

OK just received my dvd player today from amazon.. fits great..

Just wondering, am i connecting this correctly? There is 1 extra output on the DVD player, does that mean I can use it to connect something else to it like a IPOD?

What exactly is the left wire for? It said in instruction manual: 1250MM AV CABLE x1, the right fcable is external remote sensor, where could I mount this at? My dashboard?

Where do I connect this to? This is the DC in/out put 12v

Just want to make sure, I dont use this unless I have ML correct? (From Navtool)

Just wanted to make sure, can I connect my ipod through the center console (secondary cup holder) and connect my DVD player in glovebox. Will the wires be long enough to do this? Thanks

the last set of wires you do use. you just plug it into the blue blank socket behind the navi screen and you don't use the other end. i just taped it up.

That last harness...all you use is the plug end into the blue connector in the back of the nav screen and the blue RCA to the NavTool. Yellow RCA and socket end is not used...just tape up.

Find a ground and ACC power source in the console...the Cig lighter harness is an easy to reach source.

The Valor harness on the left is used to input and A/V signal from something via the DVD player.

I used main input for DVD and the secondary input for the IPOD AV cable. You can switch between the two inputs by holding the seek button for a few seconds.

Ok, thanks sinister.

Btw, since you connected your DVD player to cig lighter, why are you having trouble turning it on while having your car started but not engine? Because I have my radar plugged into that and my radar turns on when my engine isn't on.

Did your dvd player come with bracket? How did place it on top of the glove box? Thanks man.
