Default Adding subwoofer to IS250 stock audio system

Hello:

I would like to get some more bass in my 2008 IS250. I want natural, deep, clean bass at realistic volumes (ie not bass-head levels). The existing subwoofer isn't cutting it for me but I notice that when I turn the volume down, the bass doesn't turn down to the same degree - it as if there's a built-in loudness (bass) compensation at low volumes. If I add a subwoofer, I'm afraid this is going to overwhelm the rest of the sound as bass boost should definitely not be needed.

Anybody whose installed subs in the IS250/350 got any thoughts on this?

The best way is to add a aftermarket subwoofer with a mono amp to it....made all the world difference for better bass....IMO the stock system sounds great..it just needs a little more bass effect...so when I combine the stock system with an aftermarket sub/amp combo...to me...its enough...I will post the link to a super good write out of our system from cmusic..

This gave me all the info I needed to acheive what I wanted...simple and not too expensive upgrade...you can control the aftermarket sub gain level with the Line out converter and control bass level...you just set the gain...and as you move your volume level up..you can see how strong you want the sub to drive..then adjust the level up or down to your taste....read this link first...very good FYI...and BTW I also removed the stock sub...dont need it

How are you driving your amp? Are you incorporating a l.o.c. or just running off the stock amp output? Get a l.o.c. with a remote volume ****. Audiocontrol "epicenter"
