This was a simple fix for me. Both of my seats were squeaking and it was coming from the lumbar area inside the seat...not from the rails.

I took both seats out, opened up the back and sprayed a little silicon lubricant between the metal frame and the foam backing of the seats. You could see that over time the foam wore down and became glossy...causing the squeak.

I did this ~6 months ago and haven't had a problem since.

All in all...half hour of work.

I'd also like the PN for these plastic clips...my driver seat started doing this not too long ago and I'm off warranty.

+1 on the plastic clip part number. ALthough this TSIB i found doesnt mention anything about a plastic clip.

http://www.lexustsb.com/getattachmen...A2LnBkZg%3D%3D

it has you cut a portion of the seat locator pin off.....

ok just did the TSIB from ---^ and it worked like a charm!

I had some relatively thin foam rubber that I cut into rectangles and slid underneath the carpet to give a little relief to where the locator pins USED to be. It probably wasnt necessary but I figured why not?

Now theres no way that any metal on metal will touch even if I didnt cut the locator pins high enough up.

Get yourself a dremel and GET TO WORK!

I've been dealing with this off and on for about 7k miles. When I mentioned it to the dealer, they said they knew about the TSB and would take care of it. Got the car back and the invoice said they couldn't find anything wrong (!). However, the clicking sound (not a squeak) has only happened twice since. I may bring it up again before the warranty expires but it's not bothering me much now.

Hello everyone,

My 06 IS350's, with around 60 000 Km, driver seat started to squeak. The service advisor told me it is the "bushing" in the seat that is causing the squeak because of "wear and tear". But I am confused how a car with low mileage will have this much wear + tear. Anyways, the service department told me the extended warranty will not cover the power seat unless it is part of a electrical problem.

I dont want a new seat, i just want the squeaky noise to be stopped but they told me lubricating or tighting things wont help.

Thanks for the input.

^----you could just read up above where I give you the url to the TSB and do it yourself for free instead of defrauding a dealership

I had this problem too so I took off the seat and saw off those 2 pins and it went away.

My driver seat did this and Lexus re-torqued the bolts at no charge and I was long out of warranty. No more squeak!

I'm gonna give it a go (I have the next 5 days off) and if I can't fix it, I guess I'll try and get them to do so. I'm just sad that this car has about the same amount of squeaks and rattles as my 2002 camaro with 150k miles on it!

I dont believe TSB's require the dealer to do anything. THey are just guidelines on how to fix something if it's under warranty or you pay to have it done.

no, the dealer probably won't cover it
but you could send an email or call the service manager to see if they would do it out of courtesy (I emailed some dealer and one of them actually is willing to do this for me even i'm out of warranty for a year, but i just passed 45k miles in May so i guess it still depends)

or else one of the dealer that i usually go to quoted me for about $230 to fix that.....
