So weird cracking sound!!
Sup everyone! Ever since I got my car, I been hearing some weird sounds coming from my dashboard. I dont know what it is, but I'm thinking it maybe just that its a new car and its just settling in or something. Does anyone else have the same problem? At first I thought it was the intake or exhaust that was making the cracking sounds but these sounds happen way before I did any mods to the car.
This is a problem that's been discussed before.
I have it as well, but don't consider it particularly bothersome when my dash "pops"

My dashboard made a similar sound last week. It's to the left of the steering wheel close to the vent . I pressed on it and it makes kind of a squishy sound. I was going to take it to the dealer (08 with 11k miles) but it went away a few days later after i kept pushing on the area. If it comes back I will take it in

I have the same problem as well...I brought my car in for this problem, they put some sort of strip by the edges of whatever that's behind the dash. The sucky thing is that the problem is still there every now and then and Lexus is not willing to take care the problem "again" since they warranty it already.

Dunno about you guys but nasty sounds from the dashboard is a widely known problem among european IS owners. Some people tried to reassemble the dashboard and stick some tape at joints at a dealer but it didn't solve the issue (in a week max the sound comes back) so just forget it and make the music louder
