My 08 is250 front lighter does not work with anything and in fact "blows a fuse" everytime ive plugged anything other than the lighter in. Lexus says that its not rated for much else other than a lighter.

does anyone have the same issue and or a work around for this? i mean who the he** uses these things as lighters anymore?! they might as well call them "power outlets" from now on.

What are you plugging in? The only thing I use my outlets for is phone charging and my iPod. So far, no problems yet.

EDIT: Also plugged a hand-held vaccuum cleaner in the outlet, and it worked fine.

 

thats the only things we've been trying to use for as well. Ipod, blackberry, passport 8500 radar.

so it sounds like my dealer doesn't know what their talking about.

 

yeah my fuse blew out too and i've only used car chargers on it.. WTH.. putting it in the center console is just a PITA!
