Question voom voom voom sound from rear

so I just swapped wheels and I heard this voom voom voom noise when cruising at 40 mph onwards. it's somehow like circling wind noise. the faster I go the louder the noise. I heard it's coming frm the rear. the rear tire I used is general exclaim UHP 265/30/19.

is it because the sidewall is too thin that causes the noise? the noise is annoying that I can everytime hear it when cruising. I read many reviews about this tire and no one mentioned anything about this noise.

oh btw the guy who installed the tires didnt put the hub rings on the rear wheels because he said it's too tight and I am fine without the rings. maybe that's the cause?

I don't understand the sound you are trying to simulate.

Some lesser quality tires will make that noise when you drive. It also depends on tread pattern, how much the tread has worn.

if it's the balancing problem, the wheels were just balanced today as the wheels were installed. did they screw up on the balancing? should U tell them to rebalance the tires again?

as for how much the tread has worn, it only touched the street for 3 miles lol

maybe you have to break them in? heat up the tires... grind off the protective coating.

I am only going to throw this out there as I dont know much about that specific tire but are they directional? we have seen Lexus dealers rotating staggered rims so its possible that someone could have put directional tires on backwards or it could just be that tire. The OEM tires that where on the IS350 where very noisy on my car and when I put them back on I had my wife asking what was wrong with the car since she got used to the PS2 tires and the Winter tires being so quiet. I maybe a defective tire also.

I would take it back and take them for a ride and ask them what is up with it.

I had a similar problem, but on the front left side tire. At first it was driving me nuts because I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I tried to re-balance them 3 times at 3 different shops, got my alignment done, I even got new rims because I thought the rim was bent. In the end after spending a 1000 bucks, I changed out the tire and the noise went away. I might suggest getting new tires because the ones you got might be bad. Just a suggestion.

My brother runs these tires and they're not noisy at all, so it has to be a possible balance issue. Also check if the lugs are on tight, stupid mistake but sometimes it happens

You NEED hub rings. Not only will an off-center wheel make a noise, but you'll also get vibrations and uneven wear patches on your tire from your wheel not rotatating perfectly.

yesterday the installer tried putting the hub rings and he said it is very tight. so he did not put it on. did he make a BIG mistake??

I will come back to america's tire on monday and ask to try install it again.

one of the rear tire went flat twice, I suppose that was making the voom voom noise I mentioned. so I put some air and test it with Eric, no more sound. I will see how it goes.. but I still dont understand why it was flat twice in 2 days.. and the day of the installation!!
