Default National IS lease - How does it work?

Hey everybody, I am oblivious on how leases work, so here's a couple of questions.

National IS lease wants $3599 due at signing, $349 a month at an MSRP of $34,350 for a Base IS250. I'm clueless about this, but if that's at full sticker, can we negotiate the price of the car down, and "use" that as the down payment? To be more clear, could the $3,599 due at signing, become $0 down based on taking it from the car itself?

Last question - I've negotiated an IS250, premium w/nav, at $0 down, $475 x 36 mos. on a lease - is that looking like a good lease? I don't have the rest of the numbers with me, like purchase option price, etc.

A big thanks to CL for any help you guys can give me.

You know, whenever you put down large money on a lease, you never see it again. There are alot of vehicles out there today offering 0 down and even as high as 60-72 months.
Read up on Lease questions at Edmunds.com or talk to a financial advisor.

You need to ask yourself this question - can I really afford to give them free money on a down payment, pay for the use of this car for x nbr of years, and then give it back to them, and I have nothing to show for all that money I spent ?
Am I planning on buying it from Lexus at the end of the lease ? If so, how much is the car going to be worth then? They have to tell you this upfront in the lease deal.
What is the cost of money these days ? Well thats, not a good question, is it ?

Are you all square on just this little part of doing a lease ?

Good luck with this.
