The two things people seem to hate most are the two things that a lot of people changed on their 06-08's themselves...The rims, aftermarket 19's or are going to look hotter than any 18's lexus could ever have came up with. The Taillights, if they are that hideous, can be swapped with IS-F tails pretty easily, if you are willing to spend the cash.

 

I think 09's wheels look pretty similar to Audi A5's

I am sure they will bolt right in the same holes... You will just need some Ultrasonic Blue paint and custom wiring to get them going...

While you are at it, remove the chrome and replace it with Carbon Fiber..

Is this true for the U.S.? The card is not mentioned on the Toyota press room site. Is there a link to something official that confirms the card for the U.S.?

 

is it me or the 09 IS looks smaller than the 06-08?? \\and i really like the new taillights... so much better than 06-08

 

FYI - longo has one sitting in the front of the lot...has some horrific cec wheels on it...my .02 cents is, i like the 06-08's much more, looks like they softened the 09's up and made everything whispy - front fog surrounds, grille, rear lights, they all have that whispy style that you find in the IS-F's "F" logo, or their F1 logo - is this their new design direction maybe? Side signals don't look like they match the car...otherwise, it's the same car. 06-08 were already a little soft in front-end design, so I wish they had gone more chiseled, meaner, not softer...

 

Correct... Lexus has started slowly releasing the first batch of 09's this week finally...

Just a bit delayed by a few weeks..

One of our CL members also told me they brought back the NON-HID headlights to keep the MSRP sticker pricing lower ....

imo the 06-08's look more chiseled than the 09's. they took some of the sharper edges and rounded them off, especially the front bumper.

I thought they ALWAYS had non-HID headlights available, depending on how the car is packaged for the dealer (regional options)

 

I want to purchase the 2009 IS 250. The Lexus Dealership here said the cars are at the port and should be at the dealership any day.

 

I don't know what to think yet. The 00-05 IS was very defined and the 06-08 I thought is very conservative. Now the 09 they round off even more. Looks like Lexus is going for the oval turd look. Why not just put head lights on something you'll find in the toilet. Or lets make every car in the line-up look like the ES.

 

I have a feeling that 09’+ owners will switch their taillights to ours the new ones remind me of the leaked IS pre-production images *tacky*. And those blue interior button backlights are an improvement over the green ones, white would have appealed to more people though
