Thanks for not making this one of those "I left the IS because I did not like ..." threads.
With that out of the way, let me make some observations
: alot more money, even better exterior, hideous interior, better performance, worse ride, less reliable. I love being in the lane next to you, but I'll keep my car. Nevertheless, you've got one of theee nicest cars out there, better than what I see around here for days-and-days. Congrats!

Also if this is a early model '08 you may not have received the latest ECU update which actually detunes the motor by holding the wastegate open longer. If it is a later model '08 with the detuning already there, then you probably do not realize any lost HP because you did not experience the pre-detune tune. If it is an early build '08 then don't let them upgrade the software.
Looking at the '08 dynos with the latest ECU update, there is no HP or torque loss. The above statement is not accurate.Originally Posted by Scottward
Nice car, but look out for your high pressure fuel pump failing. BMW is having a rash of problems with this. If you start getting long cranks then take it in right away, otherwise a tow-truck on the highway may be in your future. Also if this is a early model '08 you may not have received the latest ECU update which actually detunes the motor by holding the wastegate open longer. I wanted a 335 bad but wasn't bold enough.
Nice ride, congrats. Please don't mod the engine. Too many people are having problems and it voids the warranty. Only Dinan products are covered but they are expensive. IMO not necessary anyway, 300 horses gets the job done.

Nice upgrade- love the new 3 series and the 1 series for that matter.
That car has a ton of modding potential, unlike the black hole that is the aftermarket for the 2IS.
But I have to say it, as a man I wouldn't be caught dead driving a tuna basket (convertable) even if it is a retractable hardtop, not for me.
Congrats on the new ride, looks niice

No no no. I've been criuzing the bimmer sites. Several people have had problems after trying to fool around with the 335 engine and/or electronics. A few have needed engine replacements at their own cost because BMW invalidated the warranty.Originally Posted by juice14

I wouldn't recommend it.
Besides, what's wrong with 300hp?

I have always loved the red interior of the Beemers
nice black and white combo. Must be a night and day difference with the twin turbos on the 335i after having the IS250 huh!?!
