and what exactly does it do? is it just a decorative part?

 

It reverses the shifting logic so the car will downshift when you push the shift **** up, and upshift when you pull the shift know down.

it reverses your up/down shifts in sport mode for automatic transmissions, thing is thou you can just swap 2 wires in your shifter harness to do it yourself... if you wanna do this its in the sticky FAQ, i think somewhere... ISBU did mine and it took only 3-4min

 

ohh like my GF's 335xi ... i always get confused when i first drive each car cus the shifter is reversed in each...lol

maybe i will do this..what should i do a search for? or if you have it can you paste the link to the guide..i might consider doing this because it pisses me off each time i screw up the bmws shifting due to this screwing with my brain!

anyone know if this will cause a problem when i take the car to the dealership? Mine is a lease AWD is250 and i am really cautious about what mods i do because of the lease aspect. Has anyone done this to a lease? Or anyone work for a dealership that might be able to ask....i dont want to call and ask mine because last thing i want is for them to suspect i am doing things i shouldnt.
