Default route recalculation

Hi,

Since my car (2007 IS250) has been without power for a few days, I am running into little pet peeves.

1. My navigation system doesn't recalculate a route when I for example took a wrong turn or missed an offramp. I tried to look for the settings but couldn't find any.

2. The change of night settings to day settings work a little strange. Before the navigation system was much quicker to switch from the bright day modus to night modus when light was of low intensity. Now when I pass a streetlight it already moves to daymode. But also there is a bit of a delay which makes it irritating.

I hope some of you know the problems and can help me with this. Otherwise I'll be off to the dealer.

thanks

Default My wife had the same problem

We recently got a 2005 RX and the navigation system does not recalculate the trip if you get off the chosen path. She has taken my Garmin and uses it rather then the Lexus GPS system. Talking to other Lexus owners we have found they are having problems with their GPS systems also.

Now we are waiting for the new DVD to come out next month, maybe it will be better.

If you find an answer let us know.

Wow--if I spent $2500 on a factory GPS that didn't recalculate, I'd be back to the dealer in a flash, not just "hoping" the new DVD solves the problem.

I have an '06 with the original disc, and it automatically recalculates the route if I don't follow their route. I wonder if this can be turned off somehow on the touch screen? Your's is not acting right if it doesn't recalculate.

I don't believe there is a way to turn off recalculation of route if you miss a turn. If it isn't doing it, something is wrong. I'd try pulling the fuse for the nav for a few seconds to see if that helps. If not, bring it to the dealer.
