Default Compass Reversed??

Hey everyone... just had something very strange happen to me a few days ago.
I was driving from Palm Beach to Orlando... a very simple ride - I95 North for about 120 miles, and the FL 50 West for about 30 min

well, i am about 75 miles down I95 north when i happen to notice my compass on my mirror says.. S

i wasl ike WTF?? thinking i've been driving in the wrong direction for over an hour, until i see a blue sign on my right side that said I-95 North (meaning thats what i was on...)

soo, i'm like hm well maybe the road was windey for a little and i'm heading south somehow for like a minute and i'm gunna make a big turn that takes me north again in a little bit

nothing, dead straight.. and now i'm looking for any chance to turn the car to see if the compass is stuck on S, or if it thinks i'm headed South

Well, i finally hit a little bank and had to turn right, and my compass told me i was headed south west, and then i realized that turning to the right would make me head east.. if i'm heading north

I get off the exit and turn left onto FL 50 West, and my compass (oh yeah) says East

has anyone had this happen before? what would cause it to flip like that?

oh and edit - i had the 30k mile service done like, less than 100 miles ago, so the car has recently been touched by mechanics, but this is the first time i've NOTICED it.. i dont look at my compass often i'm usually confident in where i'm going

There is a calibration procedure in the Owner's Manual for the compass. You need to set it to the correct zone, then drive in a circle to calibrate it. I had to do this when I moved from California to Georgia.

if you suspect the dealer take it back to them. probably wouldnt hurt to try the procedure in the owners manual first.

maybe u can try flipping ur rear view mirror around? o wait

the calibration is soemthing u have to do when something was accidentally resetted, but definately take it back to the dealership if u dont know how to do it or it doesnt work after u reset.

good luck!
